Six months has come and gone!!
Wow, today we have been in Japan for exactly 6 months. I will admit that the first 5 months FLEW by. Jamie and I both feel that we settled into the Japanese way of life and became comfortable pretty quickly…. I think that’s why this past month has kind of felt like we’ve been here longer then we really have. Does that make sense??!?! Anyway…..
We are super excited for what the next few months have in store. Let us share with you what’s going on:
March
-- Grand Sumo Wrestling Tournament
-- My parents come for a visit during the cherry blossom season
April
-- Visit Mt. Fuji and go to Fuji Q High Land (a roller-coaster theme park that has rides that hold 3 world records [fastest / steepest / tallest]). I am not too sure what the doctor will have to say about me riding these roller-coasters given my back condition….but I JUST HAVE to go on ALL of them.
-- Snow Patrol concert
-- Go to Thailand (we’re flying into Phuket and then are going to stay a few days at Koh Phi Phi and then another few days on Coral Island)
May
-- Steve and Alex come to visit for a couple of weeks
June
-- Go to Beijing and the Great Wall of China
-- A possible visit from Kev
In between all of our visitors / trips, we will be working because we have organized a lot of shift swaps to get time off, so sometimes we will be working 2 weeks straight! It’s ok though…it’s so worth it!
So you may be wondering why we are doing all of this is the next little while?!?!?!?!?!
Well, Jamie and I have decided that we are not going to renew our contract after our 1 year is up. So, yup….that’s right…we will be back in Van city in mid-August.
Just an FYI that some of you may be selected to assist in the house-hunting process...ha ha ha!Ideally, we would love to have something for September 1st, but since we aren’t back until the middle of August, that may not be so realistic. We will see…..

Wow 6 months already, it is also the halfway mark of your time over there.

WOW!!!! 6 months has FLOWN!! If feels like just yesterday we were at Malones having our "last meal".
It has been great reading the blog for the last 6 and I look forward to the next 6 as well!!

Awesome for us- sad for Japan! Can't wait to see you guys around town again. Sounds like you guys are going to be crazy busy in the next few months- time will fly.
