This past weekend Jame and I made the trip to George, Washington to go to the Gorge to see Coldplay. Thinking back, I think I have written about my love for this venue before (i.e. – Dave Matthews and Jack Johnson). Well, I am going to say it again, the Gorge is the best VENUE on EARTH!!!!! Seeing Coldplay there definitely didn’t disappoint!!!!
Before that we had to keep up with tradition and stop in Ellensburg to eat at the Red Horse Diner. Such GOOD eats! We always went back there the next morning for breaky! It is that good!!!
We arrived at our camp site AKA large field at 3pm and made our way to line up shortly after we arrived. In the past we usually made our way to the line around 5ish and always got stuck on the hill and this time I wanted to be as close as possible. We snuck our Bud Lime in and waited in the 37 degree heat!! I don’t know if you can see the beads of sweat, but they are there!
One and a half hours later they opened the gates and every FLEW in sprinting to get the best seats. Initially we grabbed a spot at the bottom of the steep hill, but then Jame went for a walk towards the tiered area and overheard the security guards saying that the band was going to perform on this tiny stage to the left of the tiered seating. We grabbed our stuff and made our way over there hoping we could sit there. No one kicked us out and soon everyone else sat around us. See the guitar stands….look at how close we were going to be to the band!!!
Here’s a shot of the amazing venue. If you have never seen a show here….GO!
They obviously had to make sure the confetti blowy machine thingie worked, so they must have shot out the paper butterflies during the sound check.
Getting ready for the big show. Sorry about all of the self photoz :-)
A sold out show of 23, 000 fans…here we go!!!
Guess what song this was?? ;-) “Look at the stars….”
I have seen Coldplay before here in Vancouver and they were amazing then. They are amazing live and they are soooo entertaining and shucks Chris is so witty! Just like my man….that one’s for you Jame ;-) Before we knew it….the band was running up the hill and there they were. 10 FEET IN FRONT OF US! I could see the sweat…the stains on Chris’ jeans and I now know he wears undies from Banana Republic :-) Look at how close we were!!! They played “Green Eyes” (one of our FAVZ), “Death will never conquer” AND MJ’s “Billie Jean”. I have a short video clip of “Billie Jean” and once I figure out how to upload it, I will share it. Unfortunately the sound isn’t the best because I accidently had my finger over the mic. Oops…..anyhow……LOOK HOW CLOSE WE WERE:
At several points during the night the guy in the middle of the next picture (in black)would stand beside me and take video. The first time he did this he was mostly focusing on the crowd behind us, which I am sure he now knows turned out to be footage of black nothing. He turned to me in his hammered voice and said “What song is this?” I said “In my Place”. And he said slurred and all, “Okkkkkk, look at this on Youtube. Video In your Face, In your Face at the Gorge. Check it out….everyone will see it. In your Face, got it? Say hi to your parents ok?” and walked away. It was soooo funny, you probably had to be there, but I thought I’d share anyway :-)
Check out all of the paper butterflies!!!
I just had to get a pic of me standing on the same stage that they did!!! What a groupie, I know!!!
Thanks for letting me share! We were soooo exhausted at the end. Being outside for 8 hours in 35+degree weather will do that to ya! Thank god it was only 13 degrees the next morning. That made the ride home bearable. We had a GREEEEAAAAAATTTTT time and I will be sure to share our next Gorge adventure with you whenever that is!

Looks like a lot of fun! I must tell you though I kept thinking 35 degrees that's COLD why does she keep writing about sweating and why is she wearing short sleeves?!?! Ah, then it dawned on me you were typing in celsius. I did the math and figured out it was 95 degrees in "my language". Anyways, like the pics very much.
good times!! did jamie have the biscuits and gravy at the diner?? sick! There is a YouTube of the MJ song on the perez website! Looks amazing!
AWWWWWWWW you guys are so cute with your self shots. I canNOT believe how close you got. If that had been me and Nick Jonas, I would have FAINTED!
