Walking in a winter wonderland.....literally!

I have lived here since 1992 and each year it snows.....obviously. Not since I can remember have I seen snow stick around this long....and this much of it! Now I know what you east coasters are thinking "Those wimps, they should come out here and experience our blizzard conditions!" I am definitely not comparing our weather to yours...I would never dare to compare :-) This is a big deal for us out here...despite the fact that the cities come to a stand still and everyone forgets the winter driving rules...it sure is purdy!! :)

The majority of the snow started falling on Friday and this Monday morning I woke up to 30 cm of the fluffy white stuff! Many people had called in due to a "snow day" while others were trapped at the airport trying to get home for the holidays. A few people I know finally made it out after lengthy delays, while a couple had their flights cancelled all together! :(

This morning I decided to take my camera out while taking MJB for a walk. He's been pretty bushed lately as we have been exercising the shiz outta him having him run, run, and run some more in the snow! He loves it and feels the need to eat it as he runs. I have to remember though he isn't a pup and as a result has been pretty stiff lately. It was hard to walk him and take some photoz because I didn't want to let him off leash. We had him off leash yesterday and he saw another dog...got excited....sprinted to say HI...and well, the other dog didn't like Jack's abrupt greeting, so he decided to bite Jack's head. Now he has quite the owie above his eye. So ya...I didn't want to deal with another encounter, so I tried to hold his leash while he was frolicking everywhere and take some photoz while protecting my camera from the snow tumbling off the tree branches above.

It was absolutely gorgeous out today! I love this weather!!! I don't want it to leave and spend the rest of the winter with rain! I would take this kind of weather ANY DAY!!! Here are some shots from today:

awwww love it! I love Vancouver when it snows. I know I have been giving you folks a hard time about being wimps now that I am a east coaster and all, but I completely understand how excited. Love the Jack pictures, especially the wide angle shots - aren't they addicting.

Hope you have a super white winter wonderland for Christmas!

Happy Ho Ho!

The weather outside is frightful but the fire is so delightful! I still can't get over the snow! Especially down here - we never get as much as the burbs! Thanks for sharing your winter wonderland!

I couldn't see that weather while I was in Vancouver, but at least I can imagine it through your pictures. I love 'em.

Merry Christmas to you too.

PS: I found a new job but, anyway, send me a facebook message when you know which cities are you going to visit in Spain.
