Meet Mr. Jack Black
Well, many of you already know about the story regarding me wanting a pooch :) You also know about how we went about getting Mr. Jack Black, so I won't bore you with repeating myself.
Yesterday was the big day!!!!!!! Jame and I had been looking forward to it ALL week...counting down the sleeps and everything. All but one thing was perfect leading up to the pick-up of Jack and that was the fact that Jame had come down with a nasty flu bug. To be honest with you I have never seen him this ill :( He was such a trooper though! During our last training session he didn't even appear to be sick. He hid it very well. Jame felt pretty crummy towards the end, so he decided to wait for me and Jack in the truck. The trainer Gwen has been so awesome throughout this whole adoption process. It was definitely a great experience for us. As we said our goodbyes she got choked up and teary eyed while hugging and kissing Jack goodbye, which made me emotional too! GT's!
So far Jack loves car rides. He pretty much fills up the back of the jeep, but that is ok. We don't want to get him in the habit of chilling out in the back seat. He did great all the way to Shelby's, until Jame and I got out of the car. That is when he decided to hop over the back and front seats and out the front door! Ha ha ha!
Keisha and Jack's first meeting was awesome! We took them into the backyard and as I was practicing some training with the clicker and treats, Keishy was totally into us and Jack even more! It was super cute! She is a pretty well trained dog herself.
When we spoke to Aaron and Kyle about getting a big dog, Aaron tried to talk us out of it telling us he didn't like dogs. When Shelby told him we were coming over to introduce Jack to everyone he said in a stern voice "I do NOT want to meet that dog!" Ha ha ha!
They slowly warmed up to him in the backyard...slowly. That is all Auntie and Unc Unc could wish for for now :)
After that we went to my mom's place where Brandon met us. They instantly fell in love with Jack. How could you not!
On the car ride home he crashed!!!! When we got to our place, he was pretty tired too. I went to bed at about 11:30 and then 3 hours later I was woken up by Jack barking. I went to bed at 3am and then woke up at 4:30 am to the same thing...3 quick, husky barks. Same thing happened at 6am so this time I decided to sleep on the couch. That didn't help too much as he randomly darted off of his pillow to bark out the window. Hmmmmmmmm...I am hoping it is because he is really disoriented. I have been telling him to leave it when it happens and block him from the window and praising him when he is about to bark, but doesn't. So we will see! Fingers crossed...I wonder if he was a guard dog at his old place?!
So far so good...other then the lack of sleep I had last night. Now I know how new mom's feel when they have to get up and feed their baby. Not a fan...not a fan!!! Ha ha ha!
Ok..so Eric and Shelby were awesome enough to snap some photoz while we were at their place. Jame wasn't feeling so hot, so he isn't in any of them. I will save the family photoz for another time, but here are some of Mr. Jack Black himself :)
*** As I write this, Jack is beside me fighting so hard to stay awake. Poor guy.....he needs a good solid sleep***
P.S. - Number 1 on my "101 things to do" list has now officially been crossed off :)
