Most of you know that Jamie and I are hard-core U2 fans. We have been lucky enough to see them live 2x, both of which were unbelieveable experiences!
I heard a few months ago that U2 was collaborating with National Geographic & IMAX to reveal a larger than life 3D experience for their fans. Of COURSE we had to go check it out!
I haven't seen too many shows at the IMAX, but this was by far the most impressive display of 3D I have ever seen. Not only was this movie in 3D, it was in DIGITAL. The footage was taken from an outdoor venue in Argentina. They have shots in this movie that are so amazingly detailed you pretty much feel like Bono is right in front of you!
At the beginning , I won't spoil it, but there is a feeling that you are getting water thrown all over you. It's unreal! Along with Bono in your face, the band and guitars were always inches from you. The coolest part in my opinion was Larry and his drums! AWESOME! And the crowd, the crowd! I felt like I was actually there. They have shots that make it look like you are standing in the crowd at the concert. I honestly wanted to stand up and clap and cheer just like I was really there. I was bopping my head pretty hard and was very surprised that the rest of the people in the theatre were not. How could you not rock out to the best band ever??!?!
Anyways, I highly recommend checking this out as it is obviously much more cheaper than a concert experience. The only ONLY downfall was the fact that the performance on-screen was the exact same as the live show we saw a few years ago. In that aspect I kind of knew what was coming up next. However, I still LOVE them, so check it out if you can!
Tick off the list :)
