Disappointed concert go-er :(

A few months back we got tickets to go to a Snow Patrol concert at the Commodore. As many of you know I do enjoy my concerts. I was obsessed with their music and was sooooooooooooo excited to go to their show. The day of the concert we found out it had been postponed because the lead singer had some problems with his vocal cords. They postponed the show until Sept., but that didn't help us out as we knew we would be in Japan. Needless to say I was totally bummed out!

A couple of weeks later my brother in law had informed me that them, along with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, were going to be playing down in Auburn, Wash. in August. We checked it out and decided to get tickets with two other friends. Once again , I totally got myself pumped up and played their tracks endlessly on my ipod.We decided to rent a convertible mustang GT and go on a little road trip

We had a blast driving with the top down, making a stop at the Seattle outlets etc. We finally arrived at the Whiteriver Ampitheatre, parked the car, and proceeded to walk to the venue. We were so stoked as Snow Patrol was to be on stage in about 30 min.
As we were walking Jame stopped to look at a sign and said "Modest Mouse & Snow Patrol will not be performing. If you want a refund go to the box office". As soon as I heard that, I thought he was kidding so I said "Ha ha ha, very funny Jame. Let's go." He said "No, I'm serious." I looked at the sign and he was right. I can't really explain how I felt. I had pumped myself up so much - only be let down...not only once, but a second time.

It was weird because I was really upset and I think everyone thought it was only becase they cancelled. It was partly that, but it also was because I knew this was the last thing I had to look forward to before we left. The fact that that fell through hit me hard. Again, not the band per se, but it really made me realize that we are leaving. It was weird that it was the concert that brought these emotions to the surface. I guess it was because everything has been so crazy I finally had some time to sit and think about reality.

I was majorly bummed out for the first hour or so and looking back on it I feel pretty bad and I hope I didn't bring down the spirits of everyone else. My best concert buddies ever were there and did their best to lift my spirits! Thanks guys!

Even though the best "current" band bailed on us...I still had one of the best bands "ever" to look forward to--the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Wow!! They put on an amazing show! Vocals--awesome! Energy--awesome! Instrumental jams--awesome! Venue--awesome!!

That show was definitely a great one--given it'll be my last concert here for a while! Good times...good times!!
