101 List

This post is a slight side note from my recent holiday entries. On December 18, 2007 I created a list titled "101 things to do in 1001 days". I have yet to complete everything on that list, but I think things are coming along nicely. Certain things might not ever get accomplished like for example #21 because, well, we no longer live 5 minutes from Granville Island!

The other day I decided I would tackle #11. When we were in the States I bought a garbage picker upper thingie. Ha ha ha....I have no idea what they are really called. Anyway, I bought one with the intention of going around our neighbourhood once a week to pick up garbage. I mean, this is one small thing I can do to help the environment, right? Jamie doesn't think I will stick to my plan, but I am going to prove him WRONG! This afternoon I put on my headphones and went out with a garbage bag in hand until it was completely full. I hope to do this every Sunday afternoon

My 101 Things to do in 1001 Days :)

(in no particular order)

1) Get a dog. - COMPLETED (5/23/08) :-)

2) Drive across the country for a second time.

3) Plant as many trees for as many years I have been alive.

4) Take the nephews to a Canucks game.

5) Visit Africa. -COMPLETED (1/17/09--Morocco, but want to visit the eastern countries)

6) Read one book every month for 6 months.

7) Go sing karaoke with friends.

8) Cook a turkey dinner.

9) Ride in a limo. - COMPLETED (3/29 & 4/6/08 (to and from the airport re: CUBA)

10) Tell friends & family I love them more often. - continuing to complete everyday :-)

11) Volunteer. - COMPLETED (started Feb. 8th & hope to continue)

12) Take a photography class.

13) Take up pilates. - COMPLETED (2/6/08)

14) Get a score over 1000 points on Germ Buster. -COMPLETED (2/1/08)

15) Visit a winery in the Okanagan.

16) Go for a hike.

17) Get a bike.

18) Get in with the public school board.

19) Go up north to see the Northern Lights.

20) Buy a shoe rack for my sneaks.- COMPLETED (12/26/07)

21) Walk to Granville Island 4 times a month for some fresh produce.--we no longer live near G.I :-(

22) Buy a place of our own. - COMPLETED (8/7/08--WOW)

23) Convince my best friend not to move. DANG IT!!! She is leaving in July :(

24) Have a party. - COMPLETED - (6/14/08 -- hosted at my mom's place --she has the space)

25) Go sky-diving.

26) Photograph someone and have them frame a copy in their house. - COMPLETED x2 (12/19/07)

27) Catch a fish over 20 pounds.

28) Cook a 5 course meal for my family.

29) Complete my picaboo book of our travels in Asia.

30) Go ice-skating at an outdoor rink.

31) Ride the world's current fastest roller-coaster.

32) Do my back stretches everyday for at least 6 months.

33) Beat Jamie's top boggle score.

34) Go camping with the nephews. --COMPLETED (Aug. 08)

35) See Elton John live.

36) Get another tattoo.

37) Talk to Les more on the phone.

38) Send letters to friends/family.

39) People watch in NYC.

40) Sit in the audience of the Oprah show.

41) Get my own scooter to ride along side Jamie's.

43) Start using cloth bags when we go grocery shopping. - COMPLETED (4/10/08)

44) Frame 2 photos from my Portugal trip with my mom to go alongside my other travel shots. - COMPLETED (Feb. 2009....ok...they are not in the frames yet, but I know exactly which ones to print)

45) Start personalizing our Christmas cards.

46) Learn how to play bass guitar.

47) Go out dancing at least once a month.

48) Get my nose re-pierced. - COMPLETED (1/25/08)

49) Eat at Kobe Steakhouse downtown.

50) Spend more time with Abby Mac and her mommy.

51) Figure out Photoshop.

52) Go out and take pictures right at the time I think about it.

53) Pay off my CC's.

54) Organize a games night wtih H-Mac.

55) Put ALL of my cd's onto my iPOD.

56) Do a music "swap" with Nicolle, Taryn, Rach and Linds.

57) Figure out a new way to frame all of my concert ticket stubs.

58) Keep the carpet in the JEEP as clean as I really want it to be.

59) Have Mark come over and give us Feng Shui advice.- COMPLETED (1/23/08)

60) Watch Anne of Green Gables.

62) Go see Bon Jovi for the 5th time.

67) Go snowshoeing at Grouse.

68) Go on a picnic.

69) Use my fisheye camera more often.

70) Plan weekly dinners for at least one month.

71) Win the lottery.

72) Buy an external hard-drive like we planned to do 2 years ago.- COMPLETED (12/27/07)

73) Attend one Olympic event.

74) Watch U2's 3D experience at IMAX.- COMPLETED (2/1/08)

75) Check out the water shed.

76) Go camping in Tofino without the rain.

77) Work for my Dad's gardening business every weekend for 1 month.

78) Go shopping in the States with my mom.

79) Watch my brother in a DJ competition.

86) Give up chocolate for one month.

87) Make a conscious effort to save 10% of each pay-cheque for at least 6 months.

88) Take the nephews to Crash Crawly's.

89) Make sure Tomomi comes to visit me.

90) Make someone a cake for no reason at all.

91) Recapature the girl's pong championship. - COMPLETED (8/1/08 --Go Brides of Rouge!)

92) Go to "country night" once a month for 4 months.

93) BBQ my own steak.- COMPLETED (12/27/07) -- it was even BUFFALO!

94) Find a cool piggy bank for our mounds of coin. - COMPLETED (6/13/98 -- thanks Grandma)

95) Give out candy at Halloween.

96) Create a photography portfolio.

97) Figure out something creative to do with my shot glass collection.

98) Make sure my bamboo gets to the green color it should be. - COMPLETED (summer 2008)

99) Learn/read about Buddhism.

100) Find a Baskin Robin's that carries Peanut Butter Chocolate. - COMPLETED (2/16/08)
