Fun-filled weekend

On Friday we headed to Langley to have a birthday/father's day dinner. Jamie's parents were in town, so we all hung out at Shelby and Eric's. The weather cooperated and we even got to eat dinner outside...FINALLY!!!! While the b-day people and the dads got spoiled, I too got a gift. Forever I have wanted a "funky" piggy-bank. I added it to my "101 things to do..." list, and now I can check that off. Jamie's grandma is really into ceramics and she made it her mission to make me the funkiest piggy-bank ever! It is pretty awesome! After we opened up all of the gifts, Bubba got a haircut and then Aaron got a cool new do himself.

On Saturday we headed to my Mom's place in the Grove. For the last month we have been planning a "farewell, but not good-bye" BBQ for Cheryl and Pascal. It was a great turn out and once again the weather did cooperate! It was great to have everyone together. Unfortunately I didn't take any photoz because it felt weird for me to be walking around taking pictures when I know that my best friend is leaving in 3 weeks. I know it sounds really selfish on my part, but it would have been pretty emotional for me to do, so I opted to leave the camera in its bag. It was a great time though...lots of gt's and tons of laughs! Jack was soooo awesome too!!!!

On Sunday Cheryl called us and invited us to go to MacDonald Park with them. It is super close to the airport and is a dog lovers haven! We were a bit nervous taking Jack there since he is still a punk at times when he meets other dogs. Plus, we weren't sure if he would like the water since we have tried to wade in stuff around here and he never sets a paw in the water. Anyway...he LOVED LOVED LOVED the water. We threw the water kong for about 45 minutes, but he could've gone way longer. There were tons of dogs around and at first he growled a lot of the ones that would approach, but nothing nasty happened. Eventually he didn't really care about the dogs around him...all he wanted to do was swim. It was a big step for him and us :-) Next is having him off leash!!!
