Ever since Jame and I can remember, we have been going to the chiropractor for our ailing backs and neck. It is true that once you start going you kind of have to keep going....so if you have never been to one, I suggest staying away! I think I rely too much on chiropractors for a quick fix...anyways.....
When we first got here both of our backs were really bugging us. We were referred to an English speaking chiropractor, so we went to check him out as "speaking English" was a huge necessity! It was then we met Dr. Kobayashi (a.k.a - Mr. Miyagi -- R.I.P) whose english was actually way better then we thought. He definitely knew what he was talking about, but we both found him to be too gentle while trying to crack us. It literally felt like our nephew was jumping on our back. We came to the conclusion that we are just too big and he is not used to manipulating people our size! Ha ha ha! Even though it didn't feel like he did much, a few days later our backs were much better!
Lately I have been suffering from intense neck pain and headaches...I know...if it isn't one thing with me it's another!!!! I had the same problem earlier in the year. I went to massage in Canada -- that didn't help, so I went to my chiro. A couple of sessions later I was fine. I tried to go to massage here hoping that would help out, but it didn't. I was a little bit hesitant to go to the chiropractor as I hate having my neck adjusted. I decided to go back to the same chiro we went to for our backs.
It was during the most recent visit when I realized what a kind, kind man Dr. Kobayashi is. He explains things clearly, even though he thinks his english is horrible. Basically my C1 & C2 (the top two tiny vertabrae at the base of your skull) are out of alignment. He adjusted what he could and told me to come back the next day free of charge. Then as we were leaving he asked Jame how his back was. Jame said it wasn't bad, so he responded by saying "Do you have time for me to look? Free of charge...this is a Christmas present".
This wasn't the first time he offered his services for free. He did it to Jame and I once before with our backs. He was so worried about us he even called our work to see how we were doing later on in the week!
It is nice that we have found a nice doctor that we can trust here in Japan. My neck is still pretty sore. He said the left side is stuck and super inflamed and that I need to try my hardest not to turn my neck in either direction. I am not used to turning my whole body around when I need to look at something, so I am sure that is why I still suffer from my headaches! Fingers crossed it gets better soon! Thank god for advil is all I can say!
When I went to see Dr. K yesterday I brought along some Canadiana gifts for him as a "thank you". He was so grateful for them and extremely humbled!
So to anyone who ever needs a chiropractor in Osaka, check out Dr. K in Namba! He RULES!!

Your new doctor looks very much like Mr Miyagi(Pat Morita)from "The Karate Kid" I'd swear it was him except he's deceased..mmmmmmm
Hi guys - the Chiro I use in Canada now doesn't crack at all. He uses pressure on the C1 C2. He says if they are out of alignment - your whole back is. He totally gets rid of my headaches......I would stick with this guy at all costs - he sounds like he knows his stuff.....
Ummm...it looks like the chiro could catch flies with chop sticks. If he can do that...well he must have some sweet back cracking skills too. Mr. Miyagi brings it BACK...Ha, ha!
