Wiggidty Wack Weather

Lately it has been quite obvious that the seasons are in the midst of a change. A few days ago it was sooooooooo windy and soooooo cold. The insulation in Japanese apartments aren't the greatest, so sometimes it feels like I am camping even though I am indoors. You know it gets cold here when you go to the store and foot & hand warmers are sold in bulk!!!

After the windy day, it was quite warm. Then the next day it was cool again and then warm. Last night I woke up to the sound of thunder and rain. I'm talking about loud, freaky thunder and loud, pound the pavement rain. Being a Vancouverite and all you'd think I'd be used to these sounds, but nope. Never in my life have I heard anything like it. It sounded like the sky was about to crumble to the ground...either that or our apartment building was collapsing. I'll admit I was pretty spooked and had a hard time falling back alseep.

When I woke up the ground was soaking wet, but the sky was blue. I talked to some of my students about the storm and was told by 2 different students that Japanese weather is often compared to women and their emotions -- basically a roller-coaster. Interesting....very interesting!

I'll never forget when I was in Osaka...one week we had the heateres on and the next we had the air conditioners back on. It was freaky..and twas why I kept getting sick. Nywoo, it will balance itself out in the end. Looks like you two are still having good times :)

I am going to Korea for sure! Now about seeing if getting to Japan is feasable or an option at all...
