Who knew jump-rope was a real sport?

On Sunday Sept. 3rd our kids trainer Chris had planned to go out to a British Pub called The Hub after work. Most teachers from his branch were going and he invited us along. After work, Jame and I went home to change and then took the train to Shinsaibashi. Luke had given us directions to the pub, but basically they were extremely hard to follow. Jame and I walked around forever. We were only the other side of Shinsaibashi and discovered how cool the area was.

Anyway....we walked around some more...called Luke for more directions...walked around and thought we found the right place. We went inside and couldn't see one single foreigner. Wrong place...we went outside and called Luke again. Him and Chris decided to come and get us. Who knew there were two British pubs in the same vicinity and both called The Hub?!?!? Once we got to the pub we ordered some beer. Right away we noticed the price....the beer was pricey...something we weren't used to! However, the menu was quite extensive and interesting. Had it not been so expensive I am sure I would have tried quite a few drinks.

It was good to meet other teachers and chat it up. We met a girl named Tamara who was from Toronto (originally South Africa). Ironically enough she is good friends with one of the teachers I work with. We talked forever, exchanged numbers and plan to do some hard-core karaoke'ing in the future!!

As we were all drinking and talking we noticed that every single TV in the place had a jump-rope competition on. At first we were all mocking it, but the longer we watched we were all completely into it. ESPN had on this national jump-rope event and it was INSANE. The things these people could do with a rope! Wow!!

Good times at the pub with beer, good people, and ESPN jump-rope!
